DSL Problem

I have had a DSL problem since we had our new house built. I thought it was just a crappy connection from the road to our house. After quite a few times of having the DSL go out , I had to call the internet service , they run threw a slew of testing , they come out and by that time it is working again and cant find any problems. Today they said maybe its my satellight reciever or alarm needing a filter. I had them run a ticket on it ( meaning friday they are coming back out ). I cant leave things alone. And I get mad pretty easy. I took the filter that plugs into the wall outlet that has my DSL cable going to the computer and the phone line going to the phone. I just unplugged the DSL line and ran it straight to the wall. The DSL light came on the modem again , meaning it works now. And HOLY CRAP this thing is faster than it has ever been....No more house phone , but who cares ??

we've not had a problem wiht our dsl. but we did like you, took off the filter. still have phone AND dsl. don't ask how or why......i couldn't tell ya. lol.

Id have to trench the cable 500' to my house. I think I will just stick with my DSL , Lol. Plus , the cable would be another bill. My DSL, and Phone are on one bill

Don't agree with that sweeping generalization. I've had DSL for nine years and have been pleased.

I cant get att to come out and put dsl in the neighborhood. No internet at all. Can't even get the phone company on the phone.
