casting rod for smallies and large mouth.
I'm soon gonna send the XML rods to be replaced at cabelas. I was gonna have them replace it with a 7' MH. But am not so sure anymore. Would a M be better since the cover will be more rocky rather then weedy? Jigs, top waters, senkos, crank baits, and jerkbaits are probably gonna be the norm. I'll probably put some braid on the reel.

If you don't have a rod that will cover jigs, worms, and senkos, go with the 7' MH.
If you've already got a rod to cover that, see if you can get a 7' MH MF or similar crankbait rod. BB

I've only have 4 M rods. Two top water, a jerkbait and a crankbait rod. All the others are MH (including spinng rods). What you use for LM will work for SM. Don't over think it and make it any harder. You don't need anything special, well maybe a boat.
