Default Lake Norman, NC

I plan on fishing norman in two weeks for the first time and was hoping somebody on here could offer some suggestions on what to try. I plan on putting in a McCrary Creek and know the hot hole near there is popular, but any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Only help I can give you is to use the Search feature and check and see what's been said about Norman in past threads.

Also you may want to post this in the Topics for Specific Waters area. Kevin will probably move this once he sees it.

First off, welcome to this Forum. I guess I shouldn't answer your question with another question, but why do you want to fish Lake Norman in the dead of Winter? Unless this is the only time you have, I would recommend waiting until late March or early April. If you live in this area, you are well aware of the colder than average weather recently, but there are quite a few posts on here about cold water fishing. I have never personally fished Lake Norman, and the few people I know who have fished there have described it as "just average". In any case, good luck.
