It's a bad time to be a pro angler in the Elite Series for anyone not named Kevin VanDam. There are several anglers in the Elites right now that in another time or place, they could all be capable of being superstars but KVD just overshadows eveyone else. He is a machine!

Congrats to KVD! He is a fishing machine. I have always been a KVD fan, not just becuase of his fishing, but of how he carries himeself. I have had the chance to talk to him several times and his view on things other than fishing are alot like mine.

KVD is the man! I read on line one of the competitors fishing against him this weekend refer to him as a curse, lol. It must truly feel that way to many of his fellow anglers. Watching what this man can and does do is simply perfection to enjoy.

I still say that Strike King and Johnny Morris hired some Japanese company to make a Robot to help sell Strike kIng Baits and Nitro Z9's, and they named it Kevin VanDam... He absolutely blows my mind.

Unlike many pros hes a very personable person.
While I do not run a nitro hes a very good person to sponsor.
Couldnt ask for a nicer guy.
Many of the pros could take tips from him in other than fishing,regardless if on the water or in a tackle store(he does have to buy some tackle,while not often) or at a seminar such as a bass class at a university he comes off as a knowledgeable person and a polite one.
He is just one of the nicest pro fishermen one could ever meet.

Personally I don't see how he juggles everything around, what with sponsors, tv shows, and turning into gold at tournaments. Very talented.

I think that the business end is ran by his wife, like most of the pros. Like they say, behind every good man is a great woman.
