Default History of Sonar

Here's an interesting article on How Sonar has emerged over the years....amazes me how modern sonar systems offer huge coverage areas of the first structure finding techniques: http://www.bradwiegmann.com/sonar-an...ill-it-go.html

How many of you remember the paper graphs. I had one when I first started fishing. The structrure and fish were drawn on the paper with a stylus that burned the paper. Had to buy the rolls of paper and to clean the bottom of the graph because of burned paper particles. Can not remember the name of the paper graph but have it around here somewhere and when get the time will dig it out. I am really telling my age now. Only used it a few years and then Humminbird came out with the liquid crystal display. First one was Humminbird 4000 then went to Lowrance X-40 and HB 4ID which showed the fish in red. Still have them and still use X-40 on one of the boats.
