Re: Browning reels?
4EVER,
You did not specify whether you wanted information on the Browning spinning reel or the baitcasting? I have a cou;le Browning Aggressor bait casting reels that I use for crankin' crankbaits and slow rolling large spinnerbaits (with #7 blades) on the bottom around stumps. These reels have 6 bearings and a 4.4 to 1 gear ratio. For what I use them for, I think they are great. As I remember, Browning was closing out this model as they had sold the rights to build the reel to Quantum. If you were refering to the spinning reels, I have not a clue, but Browning would not put thier name on something unless it was quality. JackL |

Re: Browning reels?
BPS now owns all rights to Browning, so that should put your mind at ease. Too much of a reputation at stake to be junk. Good reels for the money. I was told this by the manager of the fishing dept at a local outdoor world.

Re: Browning reels?
I've found their spinning reels to be simply outstanding for the price. Â*Smooth and reliable.
I don't have any of their baitcasters, though. Yet. |

Re: Browning reels?
lizard
i own a couple brownings both are the load in the bottom type the only reason they don't work is well i got a stick in the trigger mechinisum of the 10 bore-dam if i know how it got in there. but they never failed to funtion. if the reels are as good as the guns they should be outstanding for what they are. zooker

Re: Browning reels?
The old Lews Speed Spools were sold to Browning.
The Lews were and are great reels. I have a Lews BB1, as well as a Lews BB1N. The don't have the positive anti-reverse, but the newer ones do. Now they changed to a BB1ng and a BB1ngs. The NGS is 4:1 and has been considered a good crankbait reel. |
