				 | Tarleton State Rod build

This was my first college rod request for a graduation present..The only part of the rod he wanted the college logo was in the buttgrip..A new challenge for me! After searching the web I couldnt find anything that would work..So I made and printed my own at work, than laminated it with a UV thin lam...Sharpened the end of a 3/4''aluminum pipe to hammer/punch out a perfect circle and inlaid it in a rubberized cork ring sealed with rod finish..Took awhile to get right, but adds a nice touch. Not perfect, but not bad..I also reeeeally like the way the rubberized cork looks and feels with the eva..Its so flush its retarded,haha!....So Im looking forward to doing more like that. This was also the first rod where I didnt tape up the guides to get a straight edge on the finish..Came out better I think. Rainshadow RX8 blank,Amtak nanolite micros,

Man that rod is awesome! Once I get started I will need some lessons on getting that logo in the butt cap.

Who Nelly!!! That is sick Pancake. I bought some nylon brushed the other day and also did a tapeless guide. Saves a lot of time I must say. But again, super sick rod dude!

Nelly is right! That is a mighty fine rod. If I win the lotto, I'll have you make me one with the Green Lantern theme! I can already picture the GL symbol on the butt where the "T" is.

Another beauty there Walker. I like the college logo on the butt cap, but the handle has a familiar look to it, not being critical, but that is a popular wrap - one you do especially well. The marblized cork butt cap is a nice touch.
