Arrow Caught another hawg (pics)!

Hey guys, caught another 7 pounder, lol. She took a purple jig with a black uncle josh pork frog.

Here's pics. Same measurements as the last one too. 22.5" length, 16" girth.

Conditions.
- Rainy
- mid 50's air temps
- water temps probably in the 70's.
- Clear, weedy water

Well, I guess I'll start off by saying that we went to cabelas last night and got our cabelas XML rods replaced with 7' MH fast. We also picked up some line, and pork among other things. These new rods are much nicer then last years IMO. They're lighter, better balanced, more ergonomic, look much nicer, and the blanks are thinner. I think they really hit a home run with these rods.

I woke up this morning, put the reel on the rod, and spooled it up with 12lb moss green CXX (which is kind of a goldish green, that matches great with the combo). And checked the balance out, right in the middle of the foregrip.

Me and my little brother went to the a spot close to home, but we still manage to catch some nice bass there (all though he's been more into the bream recently). Been catching em really good on purple jig all terrain jig I found the other day. I put a black pork uncle josh pork frog trailer on. We fished a rocky weedline where I'd been catching em good. Surprisingly I didn't hook up there, but my brother caught 2 little bream. We moved over to the power house, he hooked up right away with a little pumpkin seed but lost it.

Shortly after I catch my first bass. A little skinny guy about 12" inches, but it was a tight line. Toss it back and with the next few casts, I hook into a little better fish. About 16". Toss it back.

good part
So I'm hopping my jig along and I feel a thump, I say" there's one" and I set the hook. Right away my rod is doubled over, and the beast start pull dogging into the current. At this point I'm afraid that either my rod, or my line is going to break, so I loosen my drag a little. It starts peeling drag slowly, but I keep pressure on and get it close, my little brother gets down and lips it!

I set the fish down in a puddle, take my jacket off, get it soaked, and wrap the fish in it. We walk the short 2 minuet walk home and start filling the wash bin and put the fish in. I go in the house, tell my dad. He gets his phone/camera, and takes some pics. We put it back in the wash bin, put it in the car and go down and release it. It swim off fine and fast and splashes me on the way down!

Sorry about the bad pics.
