I don't know if it's a southern thing or not but in our family it is considered bad form even taboo to put an aged loved one in a nursing home. As a child 2 of my grandparents came to live with us until they died. Anyway I remember that to combat the negative stigma of just dumping off Granny at a place to die one of the local nursing homes changed their name to "Rest A While"
![]() ![]() ![]() ps not meant to offend....I have great respect for the compassionate people who work in extended care facilities and hospice. I just thought the name was funny.
