#3 even though I'm not a huge Revo fan.
IMO Browning just needs to give up and stick to what they're good at.......GUNS!

Never used one but the CarbonLite would be my choice. Second would be the PQ. Actually I have never used either reel but like what Pro Reel has been saying about them.

Uhhhhhhhhh none of the above. Best deal is the Johnny Morrs Carbonlite. Take a working reel to trade in and you can get it for $89. That's a bargain.
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...eel.cfm&loc=26 I haven't taken one apart, but it sure looks like a clone of a Pflueger Patriarch which is a darn nice reel and lists @ $199. The JM reel also has the carbon fibre handle which does not come on the Patriarch but did on the Patriarch XT (more money). If you don't have a trade it will be $109, still a good deal. And if you go in to BPS you can always buy a $10 Zebco spincast - they have bins of them - and immediately turn it in as a trade and get $20 towards the reel which is a net $10 gain. Second choice would be the Revo SX. |

#2 is the JM CarbonLite with trade in.
Going to check out the new Lew's spinning reels tomorrow. Will be interesting to compare them with the Abu 500 ALBi series. |

Easily the revo. And I'm not sure, but if you print out a rebate offline, you can get $30 dollars back on the SX. That would be an INCREDIBLE deal for a brand new SX. Might want to read the fine line of the rebate, might just be online orders.

Going Friday night. I am looking at the Redington combo for $89.99. #8 set-up. Between my points and a gift card it won't cost me much.

The Johnny Morris Carbonlite is $89.97 w/trade My mistake, you threw me off not mentioning "with trade" or noting it as the JM Carbonlite. The JM would definitely be the better deal, and as you are aware it's on sale for the Spring Classic, that's the point I was trying to make. Last edited by bassboogieman; 02-19-12 at 08:16 PM. |

Do you have to be at the store to get these deals? Can I get them offline or through the catalog? Its like 3 hours to get to one, but with the sale on SX and the abu $30 rebate, thats an insane reel for $80. And I just dont know how the BPS spring deal works.

The Revo SX is a great reel for pitching and flipping baits and would be my choice if that was the type of reel I was looking for.
If you are looking for a dual brake reel the PQ at that price is a crazy good deal.

Gun - $30 manufacturer rebate is included in price I've quoted. Trade in required so I don't think you can get it online.
All prices listed above do include the trade in discounts. Played with the Lew's spinning reel today. $39.99 is friggin' amazing! Absolutely the best reel for that amount of money. FLW pro friend is using the reel and recently caught an 8lber on it. Said it worked flawlessly. Got to play with the $129.99 Speed Spool as well. It's also an amazing reel for the price. But I expected it to be nice since the two less expensive models are pretty sweet too. |

I'd have to say the REVO or Carbon Black.
BTW, I fiddled with that wide spooled lews speed spin at cabelas the other day. It felt awesome, much nicer then many of the other reels around 100 bucks. Very smooth and tight feeling.

Every one of the new Lew's I've played with has been amazing. Still haven't put my hands on the two top of the line baitcasters.......I'm curious why Lew's wasn't part of the BPS sale????? Probably couldn't match the discounted price and quality with the other reels they have on sale.

As much as I love my BPS reels, I'd have to say the SX is the best deal. I wouldn't trade the SX I have for any other reel. Now that Carbon Black, I have one of those and it's proven to be a very good casting reel. And at that price, it's a steal. But I'm not sure from what Proreel has said, if there will be parts available for long since it has been discontinued.
