Unhappy Terrible news, prayers please.

This morning I received terrible news, news no one wants to hear - a friend has passed. A friend I made on another board, a friend like many I've made here. A friend I'd see every year at a get together on the Potomac. A friend I will terribly miss seeing at this year's rally in May.

His name was John Schriner, from West Virginia, we at BBC knew him as "Goose". Goose was one of the guys behind the Potomac Rally and he, as well as all the "regulars", looked forward to seeing each other there for the last five years. He was also half of the team that Doc and I had a particular rivalry with each year - all in the spirt of fun, of course.

Goose loved fishing, he was certainly good at it and he enjoyed having a good time while doing it. Goose and myself, as well as a several others, enjoyed months of trash talking leading up the the Potomac event. He and I also had a personal "duel" on the Thursday before the rally tourny, it was a one fish lunker bet - I never beat him, and I paid with the reminders for months after, and responded with "wait until next year". I won't have the opportunity now.

Goose (right) and I with our pre-duel, duel in the parking lot.

I will miss my friend, and I pray that now the bass are biting on every cast, that he catches no dinks, and he finds his final peace. Goodbye Goose.
