Swim bait attached to a spinnerbait?

I never saw it and i was wondering anyone took the tail end of a swim bait and hooked it on to a spinner bait. ANyone have any luck?

Ive taken rubber swimbaits and used the rear portion as one would a trailer or grub yes worked nicely on it and a chatterbait

Friend of mine caught his biggest bass so far this year with a 3/8oz spinnerbait with a whole Havoc Grass Pig for a trailer. If you're going for a big bite it bulks up your bait and lets you slow down your retrieve and sends out more vibration.

i have used grubs up to 5" long hooked on the spinner bait hook and/or the trailer hook. also cut as much off the U-tail worms and do the same thing.

Some of the Lake Fork guides use big LFT Magic Shad on the back of skirtless spinnerbaits and bladed jigs. They wouldn't use them if they didn't work.

I've been sliding 7.5" red shad Culprit Worms on 3/8 oz spinnerbaits since the mid 80's. Only difference now is I'm using super glue so it stays. That was fishing the Ohio River creeks from Maysville KY to Louisville - home of dink bass. And yes it does work.

You can use all sorts of trailers.

I try to let the water color dictate my trailer selection. A split tail trailer is really good when the water is clear for example. A big thumping swimbait for a trailer is great when the water's murkier, or the fish are bigger. The extra bulk (both the size, and sonic image) make it more appealing to bigger bass (at times), and much easier to track down in water with less viability.

I've been using a 3.5" keitech swing impact on a double willow War Eagle Spinnerbait, and smallies and spots love it in clear water, sure the largies would too. Only negative I see is that you need a slower retrieve than compared with a split tail type trailer, so I'll use either depending on type of presentation the bass seem to want.
Oh, and another negative I just thought of, is I get the paddle tail bit off a lot too.

Myself, I've used swimbaits and twist grubs and prefer the 4-5 inch twist grub. Why? The bass told me why.

Yes, and it's my preferred trailer for a chatterbait. I like the 4" fluke when I can find them or I cut about an inch off the nose and trim the belly, if I have the bigger ones on hand. I've used a hollow-bodied swim bait on a spinnerbait but removed the skirt, as mentioned above it looks like a giant beetle spin. I like them on a 3/4 - 1 oz spinnerbait and stripers on the flats of the Upper Bay hammer them.

Haven't tried it yet but it should work.

On a similar note if you want to use a trailer and a trailer hook use a split tail trailer. The hook rides in between the two tails.
