Default I"m baaaaaccccckkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!

HEY GANG!!! i am back online FINALLY! man it has been hectic round here, lol. as ya'll know lightening hit a big ol pine tree in our back yard last thursday. it ran from the tree to my baby the RAJUN CAJUN.....fried it i think. more on that in a bit.
from the boat it ran to the shop. there are little black marks all over the tin walls. and inside on a few outlets. from there it ran to the transformer and blew out the fuse.
we are very lucky folks. if it had hit the house, we would probably be homeless right now. but the electrician did his job to PERFECTION. nothing in the house ot hurt except for the computer modem, satelitte dvr and the answering machine and 1 phone.
nothing in the shop was hurt at all, which is a miracle, my welder, radial arm saw, air compressor, band saw, table saw anda few small items were all plugged in. all it fried was my battery charger for my cordless drills.
i was at work when it happened, lisa called me and said, "lightening just hit the house!" i was frantic, cause iwas on the other side of another county and an hour away. she then said it didn't hit the house directly, but it got the boat. and there was smoke coming out of it. i told her to grab the fire ext's (can't spell it) and she did. blew out a tire, got all 3 battereis and 3 bank charger andwhoknows what else. she is at the shop now getting the go over to list in detail what it needs for the insurance company. won't know untill probably next week or so how bad it is.

but the GOOD news is lisa is ok, i am ok, the house is fine, the hsop is fine. everything else will be ok too.

thanks for all the calls and texts gang. ya'll brought tears to my eyes with your kindness. we love ya'll to death for real.

now, let's talk fishing ok? now that i ain't got a working rig.......i wanna go even more. BWAAHAHAHAHAHA!!! out of 3 boats sitting on my yard the lightening hits the only one that runs. funny ain't it? lol!!

Ya know john, it's too darned hot to be out on the water fishin anyway. Maybe by the time the Cajun is ready to head back out to Guntersville, it won't be so darned hot. Maybe try some shore fishin for a while. Or do some fishin at Red Lobster! I'm just glad you and Lisa are fine, and the house and shop are ok. Like I said before, you just might end up with a better boat than it was before! Glad your bad pal!

Also on the above note, remember all those rods and stuff I let you borrow a few months back? They were on there? right.

Well John, glad to see you got it up once again. We've missed your prescence around here. Good news the the house & shop were not hurt badly, and the batteries and charger won't be too bad if insurance comes through for you and they should. I am surprised with you mentioning all the tools in the shop - that you still have all your fingers and toes. Good luck with getting the boat ready to go, once this dang weather simmers down.

Great to see you back online again, John! I'll try to get some more fish pics this week with that Golden Gophers shirt you love so much to help you celebrate.

Leaving for the lake in an hour...

Well maybe the rajun Cajun is now like a superhero after the lightning strike. It might just drive you to the fish.

Or, it gives you another excuse for catchin only dinks. You can just say the boat is jinxed. But let's be honest, i doubt you need any new excuse for not catching fish. Haha

Glad it worked out though, could of been a lot worse.

John, I was glad to hear everything turned out ok, other then a few fried electronics....those can be replaced......with better ones...lol. I'm thinkin that since the rajun cajun has been electrified it'll probably run faster now....and if I ever get down that way, I'll paint some lighting bolts on it....hehehe.

Glad to have you back buddy. I was worried sick for your guys when Daniel sent me the text and told me what had happened. Thankfully the early reports were much worse than the actual damage. I really hope you guys get the boat up and running soon so you and Lisa can get back on the water when the weather cools down. Like I told you in my text, you holler at me if you guys need anything brother.

got the news today on how bad she is. and it is suprisingly not that bad at all. 2 batteries for troller, 3 bank charging system, 1 tire, tach, and 1 areator. agent was of today, so it'll be next week when i see how much they will pay. which i know according to the estimate minus my deductable. but hoping they send ME the check, these things i can fix myself. i'm just glad it ain't worse. ALTHOUGH, they did write that this is what can be SEEN, meaning the wiring harness MIGHT be melted but we can't tell until we get these things fixed first. leaves me an open estimate. i like that.
