Lake Fork Saturday
I had the opportunity to hit Lake Fork with Hobie pro staffer Robbie Milam.
He scooped me up around 5am to head out to one of his spots. The report has been the bite on Fork has been slooow with the afternoon being better than morning.....That seemed very accurate! Rigged and ready,we hit the water and started working the stumps/grass in the shallow. ....We moved out to a deep ledge and worked it with jigs/crigs....Robbie popped the first fish on Crig that was about 1lb....Then all was quite. We moved into a cove and caught them schooling...We both tied on flukes and tried to hit em.....Robbie (again, haha) tagged 2-3 smaller ones and I finally broke skunk with a dink After another 2-3 hours we broke for lunch and the 103 degree weather....We were both a little beat down from the sun!! We stopped by Lake Fork Marina where I bought two Satone FB jigs that were very popular on the lake....Ive heard great things about these jigs so I was anxious to try em.... We hit the water at a different launch that neither one of us used...More 22' deep stumps and trees....With little to no bottom change. Back to pitching heavy jigs! Pretty quickly Robbie hit big fish of the day with a 5.2.....Healthy bass!! After measures and photos,I had the Satone (bullfrog) jig on and made three pitches and hit my best of the day at 4.2lbs. Then we both hit another 1lber a piece and it went cold again....and it was back to being tough and hot!!...I also broke off both of those jigs, hahaha We spent about 11 hrs on the water in the heat...It was brutal and tough fishing but we both caught a good one,and it was great to be back on Fork,Having the Navionics app on my iphone helped alot in locating the areas to try.. I planned on doing a few weekend camping trips there when the heat breaks a little bit

I'm glad you had a chance to get back out there, too bad it's so freaking hot. At least you guys caught a few!
