that today, with certainty I can honestly and truthfully say I AM NOT FULL OF SH!T. This morning I have to undergo a colonoscopy, been five years since the last one - seems like yesterday.
![]() ![]() Ok, I mention this so that all you guys over 55 talk to your doctor about being screened. As we get older, things can happen to us that we don't show symptoms for until it may be too late. If you have insurance, there really is no reason not to get checked as it is not a difficult or unpleasant procedure - although I can't say the same for the prep work. It's not as bad as it used to be, but it's a little nasty. One word of advice when you do have it done, don't look at the Roto Rooter Snake that's hanging on the wall in the procedure room. Last time I did have a polypop removed - non-cancerous, thank God - but I made a mistake of asking the doctor where he found it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Guys, in ALL seriousness if you are over 55 get those checkups, annual physical, blood work, ESPECIALLY if you have family history of medical issues. If not for yourself, then for your friends and family. It's all about detection, early detection then treatment. Some of you know what I went through last summer - early detection probalby saved my life. Granted, I was not in an immediate threat, but if I didn't get checked I might not be able to say that today. I will decend from my soap box, the games are about to begin. I hope you all have a great day! |
