I like to think that over the years I have been able to hold my own against the monkey. Most of the time he wins, but I have never been totally beat down. Today that changed, took a severe and brutal beating at the hands of the bait monkey.

Well T that is a very nice rod.(and reel!) I for one am taking the position that you truelly deserve it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having nice stuff. On the contrary there is something very very right about it.

My monkey told me to tell your monkey that he's pissed off!
![]() Now that's a beating a fisherman can be happy about! That really is a piece of work. I can't wait to tell every fisherman I know that 'I know someone who has a NRX". ![]() I really hope it brings you many a day of 'smiles'! Thanks for the share Toney.

They are indeed a great rod,I was fortunate to have purchased two 783 off of bfd300,that were well taken care of and priced reasonably.
Nice treat. |

They are sweet rods, I have the 7'3 medium heavy. You will really enjoy it, and if not, just send it my way. Haha.
Monkey got you this time.

Thanks all, got to fish it for a while today, very light, very sensitive, a real pleasure to fish. I did change the reel to a Shimano Core 100mg, just felt a little more balanced on the rod.
Threw Zoom O'l Monsters with 3/16th tungsten weights and 12lb Tatsu FC. Was able to land a couple of fish near 3lbs, all I can say is that I really like my new rod.

Congrats on the new stick. Loomis has some nice rods, but the top of the line is beyond my budget (or rather my ability to justify the expense), I wish you many years of enjoyment.

Nice stick Tav! The Monkey had no mercy this time.
I've been eyeing up those NRX rods for a while, but can't afford them! Lol. BB

Good looking stick! We have often discussed fishing rods and sensitivity. Now we can actually do some on water comparison. I have often wondered if a stick like that would actually transmit a different feel or let you feel things that a medium quality stick misses. Now we need to find a gravel bottom and drag a jig across it with that stick against some falcons and see just what the difference is. I know it's lighter than our falcons, just wonder what the feel difference is. I hope for your sake that it is, but for mine, i kinda hope it's not, cause i can't afford any more tackle upgrades. LOL

It's kinda weird Kevin, I don't know that I can feel more than I can with my Falcon rods, but it's kinda like the difference between High Def. TV and Regular. The way a solid bite feels on this rod is amazing, and the lighter bites are very easy to detect as well. Can't wait to get a little more time with it. I was kinda waiting to give any kind of review on it until I could be a little more objective.

I would imagine that rod would make your shoulder hurt a lot less from long days of fishing.
The flaw in that theory is, you'll probably fish even more. Your poor shoulder. ![]()
