What kind of bird is this?

Went fishing with a friend today and took a minute to snap a picture of a bird that I am not familiar with. I assume it is some kind of Kingfisher but I have not had any luck with a positive I.D.

I think that's a green heron, we see them around here occasionally.

Thanks, this is the original photo, The other I cropped down so the bird showed better for identification.
