Default How bad does....

How bad does superbraids and the such affect the performance of spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and the such. And would you reccomend using it.

Why did you use the word "bad"? As far as spinnnerbaits go, I'd rather throw one with braided, better hooksets. Same thing goes with jigs, c-rigs, and just about all t-rigs. For cranks, when you're ticking the crank throught the grass, braided works well for ripping it through there. the rest of the time with cranks, mono is the way to go. Same thing for hard jerkbaits and topwaters.

Braid is surprisingly good for Rattletrap fishing because you get better hooksets when a fish Bites you say at the end of a 75 yd cast.

It really doesn't effect the performance. The only problem I have found is with crankbaits. Not having any stretch makes it easier to tear the hooks out of the fish's mouth. I prefer mono for cranks because it has a little give to it.

Fireline is a fused line, not a braid, but still a no-stretch superline. I do a lot of shore fishing and only take one outfit with me, often the reel that has the Fireline, so I use the full gamut of lures with it. I can't say that I've noticed any problem with any lure, but who knows, maybe I'm not perceptive enough to notice, but I'm comfortable throwing anything with it.

Trav this is just my opinion and I'll prolly get chased and burned at the stake by angry villagers but I think that braid is totally worthless for anything but heavy weeds. I mean you can absolutely pull some vegetation up with braid or maybe you need it to cut through reeds or lilly pads. For everything else I just don't see it. I've tried it flipping and stuff like that I don't see the advantages as much as disadvantages. Again this is just my experience with it fishing the way I fish in my area.
