Unhappy time to find a new hole

With the death of a farmer that lives down the road here, his wife informed me last night that she will be selling the farm soon, I have been fishing and stocking it since 1980.
Its seen better days, built in 1968 at one time I have raised the overflow drain up a foot or two, had the water level way up and had it stocked with crappie and huge bass.
When I first started working with the farmer and checked out his pond, it was full of bullhead cats and bluegills, and very few bass.
I started getting several angers to take their catch and stock the pond, along with some huge bluecats.
I figured it would come to a end, they both were pushing 80.
the other pond I hit, the old lady there has cancer, so that will come to a end too.
Most of the time when someone buys a farm they wont let any of the old fishermen that hit it daily to come, fearing vandalism or theft or garbage on the banks.
We live close to half dozen great lakes that are any where from 600 acres to 17 miles long, it was just nice and convienant to have this pond 5 minutes from my house, it was my "barometer" to what the fish were doing, in preparation of the next big lake outing.
