Just got back from fishing,
Today started with the chartruse buzzbait and got one along the weed/scum line, the sun hadn't come up yet, and I knew by the still blue bird skies I had my work cut out for me, in a few hours the bite would probably slow way down, which it did........ Switched over to the grub and got several more dinks, along with some gills, Then picked up the watermelon 4 inch fluke, had a barrel swivel about 10 inches from the hook, got bite and was a nice keeper, threw back and thought I had a nice bass, to my suprise it was a really nice crappie, about 12 inches long, fought just as hard as the bass did. What surprised me even more it was in some really thin water, about 2 feet or so. Went on top of a ridge I know of and figured I'd start throwing along the top of the ridge before exploring the slope or the flat on the other side, got some pecks, had a few more small ones on the flat side. Moved on to the dam and picked up another crappie on the fluke, by then I figured I'd take a break and come home for some chow, probably be back out there tonight, it was still and calm as can be, easy boating, but makes for lousy fishin" lol |
