I tired it when it first came out, I didn;t like the way it wraps on the spool, or digs into the spool, plus it can put the hurt to your equipment..but on the other hand I think that the anglers of today have become way more knowledgable on the uses of lines like that, compared to yesteryear.... |

I have tried it and kinda like it. It doesn't have much memory. Cast pretty good and is pretty strong and abrasion resistant. If I wasn't such a big fan of Stren Florocarbon I would probably have the Iron Silk on one or two of my rods. Eric |

Worst line I ever used. I lost fish, I lost lures, and it broke if you looked at it wrong. They may have improved it, but I'm not going to take the risk.

I have never used Iron Silk. However, over the years, I can't remember a line that had so many people saying bad things about it. And that's the reason I never tried it. Every product has its fans and detractors, but this line was panned by the majority of people who gave opinions.

Everyone will have a different opinion about what they like in line. Iron Silk has a different texture to it and some people don't like it. It is different from regular mono. A lot of people think P-Line is the stuff but I personally think it sucks. It WILL break if you look at it wrong. I will never spool that stuff on another reel of mine. You have to try it to see if you like it. I personally found Iron Silk to be pretty strong. If I hung up on something it took some effort to break. I always used 17 lb. test though because I used it for jigs and worms. I know most people here fish lighter line so maybe the lighter stuff was bad I don't know. Eric |

I hated it when I first tried it. I broke off 4 fish the first day i used it. I did like the way it casted and had no memory to it.Walmart has it on clearance sale for $3.00 a spool, so again I bought it and it sucks as bad now than it did before they improved it.If you got it take a a peice and bite it with medium pressure and then pull on the line. The chit breaks so easy, its not funny. They also got power pro for $5.00 a spool, but I don't use that either. I got a spool of Vanish transition for $5.00 and I don't like it either.I should have bought the $1.50 spools of stren.Stren has never failed to do what its supposed to yet.Dang it Tommy where were you to say buy the Stren ? You know you I don't like Berkely line.Bass addict, P-Line is awsome line, except for the line memory.P-Line will break way over the lb test its labled as. P N J |

I like Trilene Big Game. The only mono I'll use. But I also got some of the bass pro spooled on my offshore rod there for free. Gonna try that and see what it is like. Chris |

I bought a spool of it last year when it was on sale. I haven't had any problems with it yet. I don't mind it, it casts really nice!

If you have been watching the Classic, Berkley has a number of commercials touting their products and so far Iron Silk has not been mentioned. I wonder why?

This is just for future reference. I started bass fishing last year and I came across this website looking for information. And I found it. I have learned so much from the people on here who continue to answer even my stupidest questions. I value their opinions because of their experience ( in some cases some have been fishing almost as long as I have been alive) and their willingness to explain it on a level I can understand. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ASK FOR "HONEST" OPINIONS FROM PEOPLE ABOUT CERTAIN THINGS AND PAY ABSOLUTELY NO ATTENTION TO THEIR THOUGHTFUL ADVICE. It frustrated my parents when I was a kid and it has to frustrate those who willingly answer questions here. Wisdom is more precious than gold or silver. They have it. So we need to listen. Bro. Brian Psalm 1:1-6
