Default What a disappointment..

Went fishing today (I go every day)

This guy that lives on the lake comes out and we talk about the bass fishing..
Then, I ask him about his largest fish out of the lake. He says 4lbs. I asked if he released the fish. He says "No, I eat all the big ones so that the small fish can grow big."

Man I was not too happy. My fishing buddies and I are trying our best to take out about 300+ small bass from this lake so that the population would loosen up and there would finally be more bluegill than bass in the lake , a reliable food source for trophy bass. And then this dude comes along and says he's gonna keep the trophy bass and cook them, while we want to have good fishing w/o all those 14oz'ers. Now, it's almost like I am working for the guy's food bass!!

What do you guys think? Would there still be big bass no matter, as long as there are plenty of baitfish?
