I'd stick to the northern bank if possible, it warms up first with the march sun direction...I'd use a tube or craw and move it slow

During colder water temps, I've had great success fishing wood, laydowns, stumps, brushpiles etc.. Someone will post a pic hopefully for the tube. Fishing Craw type bait IMO are best used close to the bottom. I love fishing them period, but around rocks it's my first choice of baits.

A tube is a hollow, short, plastic wormlike contraption with tentacles. Usually fished on a jighead, but can be texas-rigged or even drop-shotted.

What is the water temp up there? I think that it is still in the upper 30s here but I have seen people out fishing, not sure what for, prolly bass and they'll prolly get busted by the crick dicks.
