How would you fish this??

ok im gonna be fishing this small lake from shore, its only about 15 acres. i was just wondering how you would go about fishing this from the shore. No boats are allowed and i dont think there are many big fish. I just seem to get caught in everything.

That is some nice looking water. I would try a frog of some sort, a Buzz Frog or the one fishin dude posted would be great. Texas rig a Tiki Stick (or a Senko if you must) weightless and work it in and over the weeds. If you can get to a place where you can cast along the grass instead of over it, throw a spinner bait and a wacky rigged worm (I like the Zoom Trick Worm).

I believe in general, shore fishermen should thoroughly fish visible cover and structure, otherwise, cover as much water as possible to learn any patterns that might exist. Don't rule out any type of lure, just fish whatever is appropriate for the cover and other conditions.

In that weedy-looking stuff, try various weedless topwaters. Also work soft plastics, such as Senkos, jerkbaits, tubes, etc., over and around that vegetation and let them fall into holes and edges.

that looks just like what i was fishing today they killed my xrap on the edges hell even be crazy and throw it straight down them pads ofcourse we were in kayaks not worth trying that if your from shore

If you can cast out over the weeds/scum you might try rigging a senko or something on a wacky rig and hook up a bobber. That would allow it to sit suspended along the weed edge, keeping it in the strike zone longer. You could also target holes within the weeds themselves.

When was the pic taken? I see the Ohio DNR tag, so am I correct in guessing this is a summer picture with all the vegetation, or is it there as we speak? Makes a big difference on how to fish it.

granted, it wouldn't be warm enough here yet to fish it, but soon the buzzbait will come to life in these parts.

Get a ALL Black Zoom 6" Lizard, or a Shad colored Fluke(Fin-S-Fish 7" my preferred one), t-rig it weightless, and pull it over that vegetation, using a jerk-jerk pause. Get some stout line, and a good strong rod, you'll need it. If it's solid, just use a hop-hop-pause with the same baits. Always keep your rod tip pointed up, and try to move the bait the least amount possible when doing this. Also some good ole Garlic Flavored cooking spray will help it move over and through the vegetaion without getting caught up as often.
