Do you guys prefer large lakes or 30 to 80 acre watershed lakes? We call them watersheds here, they are small lakes that the Gov. cut the timber off of and backed up around 25 years ago. They are great for fishing.Alot of guys around here are ribbing me about fishing them.I was just wondering what some of you folks thought abut it.I have been catching some nice fish out of there but i was told that it was kind like a controlled environment, with it being so small.I thought i was doing good ,being new to bass fishin and all, lol.

I caught my largest bass (11 lbs 2 oz) from a watershed, its nice to know how to fish all kinds of water, but its not like a watershed is so small that you don't have to pattern the fish or work for them.

i fish the nyc reservoirs which are anywhere from 300 to 2500 acres.i also fish 60 acre lakes.all of these are small compared to the big reservoirs down south.some of your best fishing can be found on these lakes.the guys who laugh at you are ignorant.

Seeing how I don't have a boat, the smaller the better. I have caught all of my personal bests in 50 acre or less lakes. That's probably just because that is what I primarily fish.

Personally IMHO I like any water with bass in it. Dont really have a preference, but I might add that the smaller lakes are sometimes easier to fish. Small waters are great tools to use. If you really hone your skills on smaller waters you just need to duplicate them on the larger bodies of water. In no way am I saying that you can catch fish easily on small water its just easier to try and decipher what you need to do in order to catch them becauswe they aint got no where to go. Another thing I might add is that when fishing the larger bodies if you take a section of the lake and in your mind viualize that it is a small lake you just might be surprised at the outcome.
