Default Night chatter

Anyone buy a chatterbait for night fishing ? Do they make them in black ? I would think it would be the ticket, when they won't commit to a topwater presentation. Might be a next tourny winner here ? What size hook they got in them ? Anything bigger than a 3/0 and you can cancel boating smallmouth with them.Who's got one ? who can send me the blade dimensions and angles, not to mention the blade thickess ? I don't like paying $7.99 to steal its design , only to make it better for my own personal use.Might have to buy a knock off model and figure out what makes them tick ? Better yet make them tick as they swim, wheres Mac when you need him ? P N J

prob dont make much diff bout the angles long as the sides are even. might even help to change sizes to git a varied reaction. heck round might even work.one of them looks like its got abend in it..has anybody actualy caught fish on one? seems like it would hang up on brush ,riding upsy downsy like that.plus if you use a jig with a rattle it would make one hell of a racket! just my thoughts. j

"if your readin this, you aint fishin!

become fishers of men! you catch em,god will clean them up! fish safe ya'll

At present time me and one of the guys at work are working on making the blade part of the chatter bait. Been toying with it a bit to see what different actions we get with different widths and lengths. Not really fishing it yet just playing around with it in swimmin pool. The hardest part so far has been getting the holes drilled and attaching it to a jig. Gotta use my glasses when doing this. My sight is getting SO BAD I even had to add cheaters in my hood to weld. Let ya know how things work out on the blades.

www.tacklewarehouse.com features Gambler Swim Blades......a type of Chatterbait. I'm sure you could put a black skirt on one if you can't find one that is commercially offered. Good fishing, Mac

Mac I would really like your opinion on this creature they call the Chastersizebait or something like that. If any can give a good look at something it's Macenstein. I know it's asking a lot, but any of your insights with this bait would be greatly appreciated

I dont know about black but they do come in brown and Watermelon. It is easy enough to change skirts. I have fished the watremelon a night with sucess recently( this week) smallies will hit the bait. I fished it by allowing it to sink on a semi tight line. Then lifting my rod until it began to vibrate then allowing it to drop back to the bottom.Dont over think this bait. It has a lot of vibration and a jig profile. Instead of the split tail ell that it comes with I put a no. 11 pork chunk on too slow the lure down and make it displace more water. It is real hot at Douglas here in Tennessee during the day . I used it with sucess at Norris at night. Fish2win

i figure my knockoff chatterbaits action just isnt as erratic i mean it still looks damn sexy moving through the water and plenty of vibe but the chatterbait kinda darts from side to side on occasion jiggbait outfishes chatterbait 5-0 =)
