My father-in-law and I went out to a small impoundment last night. It was really choked with weeds and the maximum depth was aruond 6 feet. We had a few misses earlier but the action didn't start until 8:30 when we went to 4" dead ringers and Mann's Jelly Worms. We cast them out and "dead stick" them, after they hit bottom leaving them for about 30 seconds.
I had one keeper bass and a nice bluegill and he had an 11" red ear (elligible for master angler) and a nice 19" 3-6lb. bass. Some pictures: ![]() That is a 4/0 hook I think in the red ear. It weighed 13oz. ![]() |
