Boy, this just puts a clod in my buttermilk right here...
These two ole boys are in a peck of trouble, and they should be. Myself and others go out here and bust our chops trying to finish well in a tournament, and some knuckleheads like this come along and try to cheat thier way to a win.
Throw the book at them then invent a new one to throw at them. http://www.kfvs.com/global/story.asp?S=5088036 |

Ya, I think we need to reinstate the public flogging. It would be an incredibly effective crime detterent.

I think they should be banned from fishing completely, No Fishing License issued ever again to them, and some Jail time with community service to repay for their deception/crime, and most of all....one good heavy fine...say like 10K a piece.

Wow.......and to think they won.....i think that they should be publicly taught a lesson......dress em up like a bass fish...and make em walk around with signs on em that say...."not only did i cage a poor little life form"..."i cheated with it to con my way into winning a tournament"....i say send em to Texas we know how to deal with "cheaters"....hehehehehe......

I heard a report that they may have other charges filed against them. The local news reported last week that if they are convicted on all charges, they could get 50 years in jail. I don't think they will get that much time. Wish they would!

Tampering w/ a sanctioned event is a federal crime I believe. Due to the amount of money also makes it a felony. I think they should just send them to another tourney and let the tourney guys take care of them.

I've been mulling this over for a few days, and for the life of me I can't understand it-doing something like that would never even enter my mind, let alone carrying it out. PnJ has a point-money does make people do stupid things. They are going to pay a mighty big price for their greed.

Isn't there an article in the constitution somewhere that says no cruel and unusual punishment? I think I'd rather get the chair than have to live with that...lol

We had a guy doing this in our little tournaments.
We generally have about 10-12 boats per event, and at that time, first place probably only paid somewhere around $250-$300 We had some guys watch them go to the truck and take something and put it in the livewell. They had loaded up before most of us got back and found out about it. Once they knew they had been caught, well, I've never seen anyone run so damn fast to a truck and speed away! |
