I had never used a Senko style bait in my life. I would look at the various brands of baits like the Senko's and wonder what the hell a bass would ever see in one of those lifeless looking baits? They looked like nothing but a useless stick to me. Well I have read so many articles about how deadly they are, and here is this forums, they are obviously well liked. So I decided to stop at Walmart yesterday morning and pick up a package to try. I ended up buying the black and red Tiki Bamboo Sticks in the 5 inch size. Tonight I had a 45 minute window to dash to the lake and try those baits out before dark. So off I dashed with one spinning outfit and my package of Tikis. I used a 6 1/2 foot med heavy action rod, 12 pound mono and rigged my Tiki stick Texas style and weightless on a Gamakatsu 3/0 offshank worm hook. I was there in 5 minutes and began trekking the shoreline to a spot where I knew there was a large tree branch that hung well out over the water with lilly pads nearby. My second flip under the branch and I was landing a nice chunky 3 pounder!!! To make a long story shorter, in 30 minutes I caught 3 nice bass on those "useless looking" Tiki worms. Now I'm hooked. I wasn't sure if I even had a chance of catching anything as there were severe storms that rampaged through the area last night bringing three tornados within a half hour from here and golfball size hail along with tons of lightning. It rained most of the day today as well. But those weird little sticks of plastic worked great!!! Time to place an order with Beckys My Mom and get some of his baits to try. I'm glad I listened to you guys. Now I'm a believer.
