The very first time I used it on a shaky rig, 8lb, it was great. I was getting more bites fishing the same thing as the other guy in the back of the boat, having a ball. The second and third time, well...every time I went to set the hook (lightly, it was 8lb), it broke. I took it off, and went to Silver Thread, I know it's a different animal, but at least it doesn't break! Your mileage may vary, but I'd try something else |

Gamma 8 lb test line, I've ripped it out of big snags, then caught fish on it, IMO, It is the best line I've used so far, but I only use it for worms, I use Big Game, for all my other stuff.

Skeeter, I'd recommend Seguar Carbon Pro if you can find it where you buy your line. I like it much better than Vanish.

i have vanish on my flippin stick in 17#. i wanted heavier but that was the heaviest they had and i was going to table rock and with the ultra clear water i couldn't see going with braid so i settled for 17#. and i love it, it is really strong and sensitave, very abrasion resistant. hasn't broke on me yet knock on wood. and i have stuck some good fish in heavy cover. plus it flat dissapears under water.

Reb, I was thinking about trying Seaguar Carbon Pro, but this is the first time I've heard from a person who has used it. Has anyone else used it?

I don't know about yo-zuri line, but they make some quality lures, so it might be real good. You'd think the same thing about rapala though, and their line is junky.

I have been using Yo-Zuri hybrid for a while now I absolutely love it. It has great sensitivity and is unbelievable strong. One thing if you decide to use it, buy the purple smoke color. For some reason(and I know this sounds dumb) it seems to have less memory to it than the clear or the green does. At least that has been the experience for me and my fishing buddies.
