Absolutely NO SWIVELS, always use a knot, the swivel will move around, and ruin it's action. I use a improved clinch, but, I always use a clinch. I tried tying a trilene knot, which is kind of like a clinch, and I lost a fish on on it.

Why not swivels? If you use one, an a piece of rubber tubing before the swivel goes on, it makes for quick changes, without the swivel going all around the R bend?( I believe it was PNJ who taught me that) Also the extra flash up front might be the little ticket needed for a better hit, or more hits. Not saying that either way is better, but they are different options. Espeically for those with bad eyes, who have a hard time tying their rigs sometimes . I would think that the swivel, could help sometimes, but of course that's just MY OPINION Lizards

Well your right, I have not heard that, I just normally dont use swivels, because they will side around, and ruin the action. I'll try to remeber that trick.

lizardrule i wonder just who ya learned this from? him i supose -am pointing at tom-let me state it loud and clear. a swivel will make a spinner bait rotate a round and round on the retrive. yes i know there are times this works.. a spinner bait tied with a KNOT will if tuned properly run straight. important when contacting obstructions in the water... a spinner bait that is running at 3 and 9 WILL be 75% more likly to hang up..think about it.. zooker
