Default Snow today,hard water soon.

I'm sitting at the front window, surfin the net, and it's a Blizzard outside. This is very good news, cause soon I can get the winter boat out and do some crappie fishing.
Does anyone here do any hard water fishing for crappie, I started last winter and could use some tips, thanks.

drill lots of holes and use tip-its for your rod, I go with 2lb test with a small styrofoam bobber, plus I take a board out to rest my feet on, with rubber boots, and sit on a bucket....you can make a small hole in a bucket and put a latern inside to keep ya warm...make sure ya have at least 4 inches of ice!
