By far in away Champion makes a fantastic handling boat in rough water. I have never been on a boat that handles that well. I have had this boat in 3 footers on the chesapeake and it goes right through them when most other boats get pounded. Full tournament load with 2 large guys the boats will GPS 64 - 65 MPH. It cruises in a 2ft chop very nicely at 53 to 54 MPH. Turns on a dime!!! This boat is only speed rated for a 175 but Im sure it could easily handle a 225. Speed wise this thing would move nicely at 75 MPH if I could place a 225 on it. Wishful thinking. I love my Yami. It does extremely well on gas and oil with plenty of power.
It could use better strorage. The front rod lockers and storage is great but the back of the boat makes you wonder what they were thinking when they designed the boat. I am a big fan of Motorguide but the boat currently has a Minnkota. I plan to exchange the two in the near future. Nothing against Minnkota, they make a solid motor, I just like Motorguide better.
