What I like about my Terry:

I really wanted a 14 to 16' aluminum boat to replace my current 12 ft Alumacraft. But while heading out for some trout fishing with a buddy, I saw this Terry parked in an RV dealers lot. On the way back, I called the number, turns out the owner was the maint. supv. for the dealership. I has a 50 hp Johnson on the tail, way too big for our 20 hp Pa. lakes. Told him I only wanted the boat, and offered $300, he replied that for $300 I could keep the motor. I figured I could unload the motor to a bay fisherman or river rat...... Well, that same evening, my fishing buddy knocked on my door and had another fellow interested in the 50hp. I took a long shot and said I wanted $4 to $500 for it. (It needs a new power pack). He balked, I thought, what the hell, he is gonna have to take the monster off the transom, so I said, it yours for $200. He said SOLD! Pick up is Thursday.
I have owned a 1975 Terry Bass, bought new with a 70 hp Merc. Paid a little of 7K for it decked out ....but the dam thing would do nothing buy porpise at full speed, no matter what I tried. After two months, I took it back to the dealer and told him sumtin gotta be done! He finally admitted there was a hull defect, but would not take the boat back. Other than that, the boat was great. I traded it in for a 76(?) Glastron HPV 190 w/ 150 hp Merc. Loved that one until I got orders transferring me to Germany and sold it.

What I dislike about my Terry:

I need a 20 hp elec start Yamahawler for it.
