Anyways, this bets fine and dandy, but it doesnt nesesarily hinge on what yall are arguing about - total conference strength. We know USC is good. The problem with the PAC10 is that past Cal who is also pretty good, nobody else is. Thats the arguement. Its more about how our #5 team could destroy your #5 team. But I think by the end of the year the #1 SEC team, be it LSU or UF or possibly UGA could beat USC.


USC is like Florida State 10 years ago in the ACC. Yes, we know - they are good. But deep down everyone suspects they are soft when the going gets tough.

I'm looking at LSU to go to the big game this year, against USC probably. I dont think Florida will make it, they will be good, just not THAT good, not this year anyways.

I guess we can do the whole ball-cap thing, I dont know if it will be worth the shipping and handling and all of that nonsence. I'm perfectly content with bragging rights quite frankly, if we arent doing the moola.

I would love to see the top 5 teams from the SEC and the top 5 from the PAC10 play eachother; #1 against #1, #2 against #2, and so on and so forth. That would give us all a good idea of whats going on. But unfortunately none of us can make that happen.

LSU does look like a good team this year, maybe a top 5'er. 2 in the top 5 will be PAC 10 teams, 2 will probably be from the Big 10. I don't see any independents getting that high (of course Notre Dame will get a BCS Bowl game they don't deserve no matter what).

If you don't want to do the hat thing bassfisher that's fine with me. Maybe we can revive the bet later on in the season or at least I can needle you about your Gators for the rest of the year... Or maybe someone else will take me up on the bet. It sounds like a sure thing against those "soft" Pac 10 teams, right WTL? .

They are soft. Everybody except pac10 people pretty much agrees. The only guys who think the pac10 is tough are people who are involved with pac10 teams, either as fans, coaches or those who have financial ties to the pac10.

I mean its not conference USA. Its not the MAC or Big least, but they are easily behind the SEC, Big 12 and the Big 10 and ACC are a little better too. USC is really all that keeps it from being conference USA.

But thats about all we can say for now. New subject time....

I am an Alabama fan. That means I pull for the greatest team in the greatest conference in football. Of course I have a high opinion of our place in college football. We have more national championships than the other 11 SEC teams...combined.

You offered a 100$ bet earlier in this post, stating if ANY PAC10 team beats ANY SEC team in the National Championship the loser will pay-up 100$ Now I dont wanna put 100$ on the line, but I will 50$. Then you decided to go with the hat idea, instead of betting money. Which, in reality, is the same thing, only instead of 50$ its more like 20$. I think that going out buying the hat, then paying the shiping and handling and all that is more of a hassle then just betting 50$. Now I'm 16, but that really doesnt make any difference. And most ehre can attest I'm an honest guy, but if you're not sold, and it turns out I dont pay, then what do you lose? Nothing. And I can say the same for you, what if you dont pay up? Well if you dont there is nothing I can do about it. But the fact is I'm up for betting 50$ on the said bet, by the 3rd game of this season. So if you decide you want to take it, with niether of us with anything to lose if said better doesnt comply with the terms and agreements, then I will give you to the day after the 3rd saturday of the season. That simple.

Us SEC fans only think highly of our conference, because our conference has proven time and time again that we are the best. Furthermore, there is no media hype, just the words of countless Football Experts, commentators, coaches, and fans [SEC and others].

I'm not bettin right now cause I dont have the money. Lots of stuff to fix after flipping the boat off the trailer. And as you said, its a dumb idea to get involved in bets with people online who may or may not pay up. I try to be fiscally responsible when I can.

02, last year kinda sorta did not materialize. But it will happen sooner rather than later, we are putting together the best recruiting class in the SEC right now, we have probably the best coach and the best football school - we will own the west in 2 years. LSU under Miles is slowly sinkin and auburn is falling apart, if you saw the k state game the other night - or have seen their inability to recruit instate now that Saban is here, you would see that they are fixing to drop to arkansas type status in the west - ok, but never special. But thats normal for them anyway. But if we make it to Atlanta, sure, see ya there.
