was fishing the other day and it was hotter than heck.....My arms and hands had some sweat on them...anyways I went to set the hook and the dang reel slipped from them and I barely got a set at all and then fought the fish for like 2 seconds and he came off....bet I never got it past the barb...
Anyone got any tips for this situation.....I am thinking about putting some cloath tape on the top of my reels and on the side to help .....the hocky tape kind....lol. |

why not just keep your hands dry? or maybe wear some type of gloves.

man I sweat a lot when its like 90 something out....I guess I could bring a towel or something.....the whole reel slipping thing doesn't happen often but I don't want it to happen again on a big fish...

Islandbass. Don't know where he got off to, but you could probably dig the thread up.
