Default Caught a 6 footer over the weekend!

I was using a diving Fat Rap shad. When the lure reached the bottom It felt like it hung up on something but I was still able to bring it in.

I figured I would have a lure full of milfoil when it reached the surface but to my surprise I snagged a 6' fishing pole with a closed face Zebco reel.

The rod was no longer any good since it had been down there a long time. Most of the eyelets were loose and the foam handle part was just nasty.

I was able to take apart the reel and clean it up and re-grease it. I'm going to put the reel on an older rod I have laying around and let me young Nephew use it when he goes fishing with me.

LOL, Falmez, don't make him feel bad about his catch! I would like to catch one, but sometimes, if you go to yard sales, they'll give them to you.

After reading your story I had to tell you mine, LOL. My dad went on a fishing trip to Canada when I was 7 years old and he too snaged a rod and reel combo with a 5 1/2 foot rod and a Zebco 33 reel. That became my first fishing outfit!!! Was in decent shape, so it obviously hadn't been under the water too long.
