... I got to wondering about baitfish/bass relationship. Here is my idea...
This Spring/Summer/Fall, take three fish home to eat from each season. All fish caught in the morning, (the last feeding period for fish), put in the cooler and take home to fillet/study/eat. Since they are from the morning, they should be sow-bellied and full of food. I thought it would be an interesting way to learn about the types of food I have in my lakes. The number three is to get an accurate representation. I will be eating them too. Would you Guys do this? Will it hurt to take a few from each season? -Lunk- ![]()

Haven't you paid attention to anything they have tried to teach you here ? Bass are opportunist type feeders.Remember when I posted that B.S. thread about gripper teeth ? It was B.S. because bass feed from availability and not usually by selection of food source.I have caught a bass on a dd22 that had crayfish tentacles sticking out of its gullet.,if he was feeding on crayfish why did he bite the crankbait ? Opportunity or reaction instinct.
![]() P.S. Unless you are starving to death, I would appreciate it if you didn't murder those bass and it seems senseless to kill them for study purposes but if you feel as though you must kill them please stay within the laws of the daily limit. ![]() ![]()
