Default Monster Bass

This report just gathered from Rene and his guides at Lake Baccarac: http://www.lakebaccaraclodge.com Lake Baccarac is behaving very nicely with the water level today at 93%, the water extremely clear and the health of the lake looks excellent. Rene says he is as excited today as he has ever been about any fishing season he embarked on. He said walking out to the shores of the lake gave him goosebumps. He feels that this is going to be, by far, the best fishing season he will ever witness, considering the numbers of big bass caught last season and the big bass they just recently caught. With the water level today, the huge monster bass that anchor down in the creek channels during the month of August have worked their way up in the more shallow water (25 - 40 ft. deep). You can actually see the movement on the depth finders from day to day as the fish are working their way to more catchable depths. Fishing mainly with swimbaits and lipless crankbaits in the structure in the main lake, Rene reports a dozen fish over 10 lbs. being caught yesterday afternoon. He got broke off two different occasions. Some of the other guides who were using 1 oz. spinnerbaits and throwing them and letting them sink to the bottom and working them off of the bottom, also reported fish over 10 lbs., with the biggest fish being 15.1. After last year's terrific spawn, the number of 1 lb. bass cruising the banks is the best Rene has ever seen in any lake he has ever fished. The stage is set for a fantastic season and I hope to see you at the lodge

I have had 1 12 pounder several 5+ and a ton of smaller all prior to Hurricane Wilma destroying the south end of Lake Okeechobee.
