cranky, just a tip. When you do start painting, you may want to put a basecoat of white or black on. From my experience painting models and stuff its always good to have a basecoat. For metallic make sure to use black. White for lighter colors.

1. lol kyle, we're both cursed
2. just went to michales and replaced it. i tested it with water, and it worked! ohew, my day is saved 2. ok thanks a lot fishing4soup. i dont have any metalic colors as of now, i have to fill out the free paint sheet. ill be buying silver pretty soon. i can make some nice color mixes right now too. my first bait is likely to be a popper in baby bass. any body have a specific brand of a sealant id top the lure off with to make it waterproof and strong? |

I used Valspar spray-on gloss polyurathane on my last one and getting ready to use minwax brush on semi-gloss polyurathane. The trick for the paint and clear coat is to use a small amount at a time and do multiple layers. I was excited too but the worst thing to do is to rush the job.
Just go to your home depot or lowes and ask them where their varnish or polyurethane is and also tell what your doing and maybe they might have more suggestions. Good luck! Post pics. Chris Last edited by Christopherkeene9; 02-20-06 at 08:38 PM. |

You can try the clear nail polish, don't know how long it will last or how durable. The spray-on lure I lost in October (caught on some rip rap(brush) underwater) and I found it floating in some weeds on Christmas Eve. The only thing wrong with it was the hook point that had got it caught rusted out.
Chris Might look into that badger air brush. Starting to want to go more into detail with mine but it isn't that good of quality. |

Dont know how the blade is gonna work and how its gonna dive(didn't weight it). In afraid its gonna float on its side or if it does dive its gonna twist underwater due to the torque of the blade. But I will "sea". If anything I'll just put on a bill.
Thanks Chris |

Blade works now just not swimmin' right. Falling over on its side. Gonna try and see if I can put some weight on the bottom so it sits right in the water.

chris,
before you do that, try an adjustment on your line tie upfront, adjust it right on left, up or down, add a splitring, plus you can add a bigger treble hook up front than the back , as often seen on the plugs we buy...you'll get it! |
