I think I saw some sand minnows yesterday. They were about an inch long, sorta brownish tan. Schooled up in a little creek. I'll try to get a picture of one.

yup that sounds like them the have gold and other multi color sparkles on them

bottle traps work SWIMMINGLY you can get a whole days worth in this with some bread in it
