I try to find a fishing show on the outdoor channel if I watch tv, plus my tackle sits out where I can see it, makes it easier to lube the reels, change line or try to find something in my tackle box, other than that my biggest sideline activity is watching the weather channel and figuring out when the best time to go out and what the barometers doing

I seem to work all of the time and try to get out and fish mainly on the weekend mornings. I am usually stuck in the office from 7:30 A.M. until 8 P.M. or so. I have been working on the trailer a bit when it was raining, replaced wheel bearings, etc.

Sleep, watch TV, eat, ride around, talk on the phone, eat again, watch more TV, mess with tackle a little. Can't mess with tackle too much, don't have alot.
Zooker can verify this.

Zooker, If you seen the Bass pro shop here in Auburn, That anit difficult to have more than they got.I think about hitting the lottery, so I can move to Florida and catch some Hawgs.Depending on how much I win, I could hire hawg slayer Lizards as a guide.

rotfl @ zooker, and his reddies.
I think about it, and fish whenever I can. I work a lot on my rigs/line/reels/rods whenever I'm gonna fish a tourney, but usually just grab the bag, rods, gear and go fishing. Lizards

I usually go down to the garage and mess around with my tackle bags. Cleaning up after a club tourney and getting ready for the next one. I recently I've been messing around with carving crankbaits. I've got one carved and sanded ready to afix the hook eyes and cut the slot for the diving bill. In the top picture is the piece of wood I found at the beach. There are no flaws in the wood, no knots or anything. Straight grain perfect for the knife. I believe it's pine. I made one awhile back similar to an A.C. plug, I plan on using for really big fish. I'll download some pics later today.

if i aint working i am fishing. if i dont fish at least twice a week i am a very grumpy person. not much can keep off the water. even went fishing the day after a ice storm, i believe that was the coldest i have ever been. i live in east tx. so i am not used to "ice fishing", but the white bass sure did bite good that day.
when i cant go to the lake i read and reread my bass magazines in my "office". |

I fish when I have time between service calls, driving all over Missouri and Illlinois. I work on Medical X-ray Equipment. Saturday I get up at 5 to go fishing. I spend the rest of the time thinking about fishing. My lawn never gets mowed my house is falling down, my wife is thinking about leaving, my daughter hates me because I am a fishing freak, my boss says If they catch me fishing on the job again I'm fired...Well...tomorrow I'll be homeless family-less, jobless, but they can't have my rods and reels ever!!!!
OK that last part is BS..I'm the second highest producing engineer in the nation(for the company I work for) and I mowed my freaking lawn tonight! I took my wife and daughter out for dinner....but I thought about fishing a couple of times during mowing and dinner!

I thought I'd post a few pics on how my crankbait is coming along. I has the belly weight and hook eye, and the rear hook eye installed. I've cut several diving bills and can't seem to get the line tie hole centered on the bait and the bill. Oh well, it won't be long (I hope) before paint.

Zooker, I know it is a biggn' but don't forget we do have "BIG" fish out here. The bait doesn't really dive per se, it is mainly a "wake type" bait.
Cranky, the bill and the line tie is put on before paint and masked off. I hope to be painting it very soon. |

A little millwright trick here bass guy. Make your holein the lip in the desired position. Then using the line tie as a reference marker scribe your lines from that point. Your scribe lines will then have the eye centered up for ya instead of off to one side.
