I've had some hard luck trying to catch bass lately, and wonder if it is because they just finished spawning or whatnot.
The water is around 70 degrees, so it would seem logical that they may be finishing up. It's impossible to see if there are any beds due to the weed cover and the unclarity of the water. I've fished deep and shallow without too much luck. |

its getting late in the year for spawning even though the temps are around 70, there may be a couple late stragglers. if in deed they are still in post spawn mode up there, look at a topography map of your lake. Look for the biggest shallow (1-4 ft) flats area. Once you've identified this area, look for the closest dropoff and deepwater. they'll stage themselves at that dropoff and eventually head to the deeper water.......or you could go snorkeling and find the few bass that are still bedding.

Watch for the little cigarette butts to float up or listen carefully for squeaking gravel.

Those conditions you refer too, do not sound like good places where one would find bedding bass anyway, unless the entire body of water is the same. I also agree, it's a bit late in the year for bedding now, but that is really up to the bass now isn't it.
