Welcome aboard James, you can learn a lot of good stuff here; you just have to sort it out. I will give you heads up on some of the wonna be Bassers that like to frequent this site. I guess the first one that pops in my mind is Zooker. He is a real nice dude, and can give a good lecture on the know hows of catchen bass, but I seriously doubt if he has ever caught a bass that weighed over 2 lbs. He tells everybody that he is 6’5 and weighs?50lbs, he posted a picture of a Mac truck and told every one that it was him, but if you see the thing then you can figure it out for your self. I know better, I saw him once eating a double cheeseburger and drinking a mountain dew that was bigger than he was. He is just a little rea headed squirt. Well Maybe an XXX large One.…Then there is pnj, another super dude, real nice quite person, never looses his temper, and can out fish the best when it comes to throwen a pig & jig. He knows his fishen equipement, and just recently, he and Zooker found favor with Shimuko Reels and both are giving up all their Darwins... P&J can and will tell you about everything there is to know about jig fishing and is a pro at what he does….Clowns-R-Us, Now that‘s JB, he keeps the morale up and in check here on the board with his funnies. I do believe he is a punk rocker from another life, but he is a swell person and will help you any way that he can. All of those avatars are different members or his family, none really knows what jb looks like, he‘s been trying to hide his idinety, you figure it out.. Reb and Flyrod are two that have to be together at all times, so they can help each other find their way to the boat. Seriously good bassers and they know their stuff too, but they just cannot catch a bass with out the other to show him how to take it off the hook. Seriously, this is a good place, and there are a ton of great guys on this site that will jump overboard to help you. In addition, if you want to step up a notch or two to a better life. Well, I am the best carper and catfish noodle on this site. If you ever need any of my expertise. LOL, Carpy is the Name.

Sir Carpy,Thank you for the kind words. You really shouldn't have. I thought man I have got to fish with this guy Carpy is talkin about, because I like to jig fish too. Then the wife explained its me your braggin up.I bet I turned redder than Pollys & Beckys hair.If you ever get out of snow Hollow and stray off towards Western NY.State Look for a home with all sorts of junk boats & boat motors sitting 'round in the yard, look to see if its the only home with electricity wired to it in the neighborhood. If it is, walk on in. You found my home, the doors are never locked here at the house.Watch Bugs, she likes to bite people in the @ss. Just yell loud when you see a black flash coming for your backside, that usually sends her runnin the other way.Dang dog won't bark to warn ya, she sneeks up and bites ya and runs before you can put some boot leather to her.Guess she learned from Shultz's mistake.Shultz was her brother, although he looked like the German shepard, while Bugs is all black, anyway Shultz killed the Amish neighbors horse while it was attached to their buggy passing down the road.Luckily Jacob had a shotgun in the wagon as they normally do.He had to put the horse down after the vet was called in and said he ain't going to make it.They dispatched a dog warden out to collect Shultz. The dog warden must have clued Bugs in on that people are generally bad, seeing Shultz never came back home when the person took him away.Ever since then, she took to biting people in the @ss for no reason. The wife wants me to clean the junk out of the yard so Bugs can't ambush us when we go out towards the cars in the driveway. She says we are going to giving the neighbors more gossip every time they see us heading for the car yelling and running like the demons from hell are after us ? The other day, my neighbor asked us if we seeing snakes in the yard, or something ?Now the wife wants me to mow the yard.I was going to buy a goat to tie to the junk and let him mow the yard, but thats expensive feed for if Bugs was in on the horse attack, a goat tied up won't stand a chance.Carpy, I just should have said, you & Polly have always got friends in Upstate NY.The neighbors likes the wife to print off your posts and go to the Grange hall and read them to the folks here at home.Tuesday nights strawberry food night at the Grange since they are in season.I just hope I can get there early enough for the strawberry rhubarb pie. pnj,
gee your neck of the woods sounds just like ours, its full of amish people to...its always sad to see a dunk "down on his luck" a tall tale sign of amish going through rough times, look in thier back yard, they'll usually
have a broken down horse up on blocks......

Shoot, I grew up in Coshocton, OH. The entire county has 30,000 people and is 1 1/2 hours from the nearest city. There are a lot of Amish there and in Holmes county to the north. I swear every mailbox says "Yoder" or "Miller" on it.
The only problem I have had with them is when you are driving at night and they are trying to save their batteries so they only turn the lights on in their buggies when they hear a car coming. In those hills it can be a big surprise.

Welcome aboard. Since nobody else mentioned it. There is a search engine on here. You can look back at old posts and get a lot of info from them. The BS runs amuck here.
