Default Farm pond fishing

Do any of you guys actually knock on doors at farmhouses and ask permission to fish their ponds? Some of my best spots were fished that way.

Most don't want the liability of people drowning, plus most get litter on them, or damage to the enviroment...it never hurts to ask tho...our biggest issue around here is all the farmers that we've fished ponds at for 30 years are dying off, and the new owners don't want people around.
You're better off at a big lake to figure out tough conditions, ponds spoil ya

I do it all the time. Most people are nice about it but alot of times they are really mean. I asked this one farmer and he said that he doesnt let anyone near his ponds so dont bother asking again...
