Default i caught a fish!!! saltwater, but a fish!!!

WOOHOO that felt good. went deep sea fishing today... and using the line over finger method... after a few casts i feel a thump. It felt so good to feel that thump. i set the hook and reeled this in:

the other dude is jealous

bang what a fluke... about an inch under the 16 1/2 limit though. after that i got something about 20 inches up to the boat rail and it threw my hook. Anyways it was a fun trip and i hope to go again sometime. God was that fun...

the problem is the salt water, the reel will work ok, but you really need to rinse it off really good with tap water once ya get home, or do it on the dock where they clean fish...think about if your line is heavy enough for sea critters.

Great Fish! Flounder are fun... Surf fishing, that's great. Use a wire leader and see if you can get yourself a nice blue or striper. Good luck!

yeah this fish was incredibly fun. are you sure 10 pound line will be fine??? seemed a tad light for saltwater fishing. i mean if i hook into a bluefish or striper thatll be a tough fight. i dont know if my medium action ugly stik would take it... but i dont use the ugly stik much anyways. yeah i think ill use a leader... any suggestions on bait? i want to be using live bait for this, probably what jb mentioned if i can find some

Cranky- off the beach is sand, sand, and more sand. Set your drag right, make sure you got plenty of line and have at it. I've caught eight pound blues on eight pound test... The drag is key though. If she wants to run, let her run...

We catch dolphin on med action bass sticks and 10lb. or less line!!! You'll be fine, Just what FLbassman said, DRAG setting is the key and let her run!
