Default Power Plant Fishing in the winter

The mighty Texas Twosome, was at it again today. This time is was back on Fayette County Reservoir. This was one cold day, and it never seem to warm up any at all. Air Temp was in the low forties, possibly even in the high thirties at times. We got plenty of strikes, but didn't catch em all. Bassintxlady had one break off right near the boat. We didn't get to see it, but it must of been a good one, it was in open water with no weeds or tree's around, it just snapped her line. Here are a few of the ones that did not get away.

All caught on Texas rigged black floating worm with 10 pound pline and #2 wide gap hook, with 1/4 ounce bullets.

Very nice hawgs there ~ I've noticed that same dead standing timber in some of your pics, is that one of your more productive areas to fish?

Thanks Guys,

The big one weighed just under six, according to the fish calculator. I didn't weigh it, but I did take the measurements.

The stand of dead oaks is probably one of the best places to find both numbers and size on Fayette County Reservoir.

There are probably other areas that will produce like this one, but we always seem to end up here, due to it's location next to the Prairie Park Boat Launch.

This reservior used to be known for producing 3 pounders on average, but I find the average fish is now about 2 pounds. There was one time back in the fall of 05, when working the weed beds with sinkos, where TBL and I have caught a bunch of 3 pounders.

Those are some nice fish. I went out on Sunday. 8-10" of ice, wind chills a ways below zero and no fish. This time of year I envy you Texans, but not so much when it is 120 in the summer.

is it true that some fish can mutate from the toxins let out of plants like that? in my friends lake he said had a ton of crazy fish. like with clubs on the fins and the whole family saw those kinds of fish a lot too. it sounded like underwater jurasic park or somthing.
