Default Lake Anna

Well my brother Mike and I had a tough day on the lake yesterday. It was COLD and windy. It was pretty miserable until about 12:30-1:00. My hands were so cold I could barely tie a knot!
The first tournament of the year had 64 teams. We weighed in 3 fish for 6.16lbs and finished around 32nd. I caught the first fish of the morning at 7:12 on a Strike Series 3 Sexy Shad crank. Couple hours later Mike catches a short on a jerkbait. Around 12:15 Mike catches a good fish on a point with a jig. Around 1:20 I catch our last fish on a point with a Series 5 Sexy Shad crank. That was it. I think a little over 17 lbs. won it. Some really nice fish were weighed in but as usual we struggled on this lake. Especially with the tough conditions. I really appreciate 3D Kicker helping us out and Smitty... it was cool getting a chance to talk to you at the weigh in!
Next tournament for us will be April 19th at Lake Chesdin. I hope we can do a little better in that one. The following week we will be back on the Chicahominy River were I feel a little comfortable (Tidal River Fishing!).

At least you got to get out. That's about all that matters to me when things like that happen. Better luck next time!

BA - It's too bad that I couldn't put you on better fish due to the restrictions. Now that we know the rules I'll have you on 'em next time. At least now you can say you know how to catch more than two fish on Anna. Like I said, try and get up here next month and you'll see how good it really can be. Check the water temps online at Sturgeon creek and plan to visit when it's over 63 degrees and the weather is stable for a couple days.

Let me know when you're on the river and I'll do my best to help you there too if you need it.

eric,
i've been on more lakes with those conditions than i'd like to remember..
cold n long..
what i've seen guys win with on days like that is that small crawdad bomber crankbait..
Some days just 3 two lb fish can get ya some money! (this time of year that is )
hang in there, its bound to get better, stay on top of the migration.
