Missed an other biggin!!

Went some place new today, and am really liking it so far! It's small, no more than a half acer, it's covered in pads and has a constant depth of about 6 feet(?). But lemme tell you, this place has some HOGS!!!!

First cast I land a nice 2lber on a lizard, next cast, I loose the lizard to a fish that got wrapped up in some pads (was using a 14lb flouro leader). Pull it up, and cut the leader off, now I'm using straight 40lb braid. And switch to a spinnerbait. I hook into a good fish, but my line snapped on the hook set, I never see the fish (for now). Switch to a buzzbait, cast far into the pads, and one rolls up on it, but misses it, I cast again. It hits it, not a big blast, but it hits it! I set the hook into a LOG! It gets to where I can see it, and it's prolly 12lbs, probably more!

Remeber that bass the broke the spinnerbait off? I say it!

jumped in the middle of the lake, and I heard the spinnerbait thrashing around. Probably a 7 - 9lb fish.

No more fast moving baits now (I didn't pack much) start throwing 10" worms and jerkbaits, I get two more fish both about 2, 3lbs.

They like fast moving baits! I know this now, so next time I'll do with a bunch of spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and frogs.

I bet ya wish you could "Dedo" that one (like you're spinning rod handle). Oh well, I guess you'll have ANOTHER chance to "an other" biggun.

Went back again this evening during the last 30 minutes of light, got a blow up on a big 'ol buzzbait, didn't hook up though. Darn.

That's gotta be rough, boss! You'll get em though and make sure you have a camera with you when you do

Alas, I caught a good fish there! 4lbs, a 5!

Caught it on a Strike King, King Rat. I'd caught one fish on it prier to it, and it was kinda torn up from that. After this, it was even more torn and I had to rig it back wards to keep fishing it, still had decent action, and floated, so why not? Sure nuff, caught one after that - 3lber - it was hardly noticeable as a rat, it was basically torn in half length ways kept fishing, anyways, catch any other the same size, and it torn in half - It was time to retire it!

After that I got 3 more on various things, from a 10" worm, senko, and Manns The weasel.

I really like this place, got my first good case of bass thumb in while!

OH! And my good luck charm (little bro) came along today as well, and catch a 4, and a 6! On on a senko, and the other a wacky rig finesse rig.
