Apparently the worse thing I can do is pre-fish. I am a pre-fish king! I leave the lake with a couple of patterns and several locations. Come tourney day all of that goes out the window due to a change in conditions. I have yet to have a tourney where the weather was anything like my prefishing day.
I prefished Thursday and it was blue bird skies with light breeze by 0830. Yesterday the sun did not break through until 1:30. (Weigh in is at 1:00) My patterns were based on heavy sun. When it was said and done, I did manage to put a couple in the boat one of which was big fish. Nothing incredible, but at 3.55 lbs, it won the money. I ended up in 3rd overall and am sitting 3rd on the season with 5 tourneys to go. All in all not a bad day by any means.
